Henry V. Vega, P.E., ACTAR

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Henry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University in 1997 and currently is licensed as a professional engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin.  He is also certified as a vehicle accident reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR), holds a Level D certificate for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, and speaks Spanish fluently.

Henry has practiced forensic engineering since 1998, investigating accidents involving commercial and passenger vehicles, motorcycles, farm equipment, and ATV’s.  During the evaluation, he has utilized photogrammetric methods, digital mapping, accelerometers, and computer simulations.

Henry’s analytical skill set is bolstered by extensive experience gained during vehicle component tests of fuel systems, airbags, seatbelts, and engine parts.  Additionally, he has developed a battery cut-off system which interrupts power during a vehicle collision.

Henry can also provide assistance evaluating failures of water filters, water tanks, water valves, copper pipes, water supply lines, and power industry pipes.  Within the field of pipe analysis, Henry has conducted wind, thermal, and seismic computer simulations to predict piping support loads, forces, and stresses.
