Fred B. Semke, P.E.

Principal Engineer

Fred received a Bachelor of Science degree-Magna Cum Laude in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1983 where he was recognized as a University Scholar.  Fred subsequently joined a major aerospace manufacturer and continued his education at night, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1986.

Fred designed aircraft components for fourteen years prior to joining a forensic engineering company in the St. Louis area in 1997.  After investigating hundreds of accidents and equipment failures over the next six years, his commitment to excellence led to the founding of Semke Forensic in early 2003.

Fred is nationally recognized and has provided expert testimony in numerous state and federal courts.  His expertise includes passenger and commercial vehicle accident reconstruction where he draws upon the knowledge gained in professional truck driving school prior to the issuance of his Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).  Fred also has extensive experience evaluating vehicle and mechanical equipment failures.  His expertise in these areas is complemented by years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining machinery on the family farm in eastern Missouri.

Fred can also provide Mechanical Engineering assistance regarding construction equipment, fuel-fired appliances and fire suppression systems.  His knowledge in these areas stems from years of technical study, field analysis and code compliance evaluations.
