Senior Mechanical Engineer
Dan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992. Thereafter, he started his career as a design engineer in the air conditioning and refrigeration field where he designed air conditioning and refrigeration components and remote refrigerated display cases. Dan subsequently worked for two major fuel-fired appliance manufacturers during the next 13 years, gaining experience designing fireplaces, gas barbeque grills, commercial cooking equipment, and other mechanical devices.
Dan’s work in the fuel-fired industry led to the issuing of one patent and another patent is pending.
Dan’s areas of expertise include fuel-fired appliances, gas supply systems, HVAC equipment, residential/commercial building code compliance, and fire suppression systems. At Semke Forensic, he provides mechanical engineering services in fire causation and explosion investigations, manufacturing equipment evaluations, failure analysis of components, and product liability evaluations.
