Nick R. Harvey, M.S., P.E.

Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

Nick earned a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri in 2007 where he was recognized as an Honors Scholar.  Upon graduation, he immediately began his masters research program in blast resistant design conducting quasi-static testing at an off-campus facility in Columbia, Missouri, and full-scale blast testing at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.  He earned his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2008.

Nick began his full-time career for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and was responsible for construction contract administration of military construction projects at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri.  In 2012, he voluntarily deployed to Afghanistan as a Project Engineer at a remote forward operating base (FOB) in Farah  where he was responsible for contracts totaling $103M.  He led construction inspections escorted by a private security liaison team multiple times per week. Upon returning to the U.S., he transferred to the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Healthcare Project Engineer, where he administered construction projects of varying size and complexity at the John Cochran Health Facility in St Louis, Missouri. Nick joined the private sector in 2020 as a structural project engineer working under the direction of a seasoned structural engineer licensed in multiple states throughout the U.S.  He designed steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry structures for projects in eight different states.  In 2021, he joined an industrial design firm in Chesterfield, Missouri, and completed numerous projects, including the structural design and construction of a tequila distillery  in central Mexico.

Nick has hands on experience from raising cattle, erecting grain bins, and hauling agricultural products while working for his family’s trucking company.  Nick passed his CDL test while still in high school.  He spent most weekends in college working on the farm, and summers were spent working internships for companies like Kiewit and Black & Veatch.  As a result, he learned the satisfaction that comes from setting and attaining personal goals through hard work and perseverance.  He is certain to apply his unwavering work ethic to your project through its completion.
